Mona Shindy Foundation Inc

The object for which the Association is established is to provide public benevolent relief to persons in need, including:

 

(i) persons experiencing poverty and financial disadvantage; 

 

(ii) persons who are experiencing disadvantage, distress, misfortune, destitution, helplessness, suffering, sickness or poverty as a result of racism and discrimination, including Islamophobia-based racism and discrimination.; and

 

(iii) Indigenous persons.

 

 It maintains :

 

• registration as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC); and

• status as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)

 

(2) Mona Shindy Foundation Inc charitable purposes include:

 

• (i) Supporting individuals and families who are experiencing social or economic disadvantage resulting from racism and discrimination or another cause, to assist them in achieving equitable access to education and training by relieving financial hardship and removing barriers to education, including by:​

  • (A) supplying educational equipment, learning materials, and related resources; and

  • (B) meeting education-related costs such as tuition fees, school supplies, uniforms, transport, technology, tutoring, and other costs necessary to enable participation;

• (ii) Delivering or supporting programs and activities that promote educational and social inclusion, confidence, and wellbeing among persons experiencing distress, disadvantage, or poverty caused by racism and discrimination.
